A video circulating on social media depicting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a public event, presumably a funeral, has sparked discussions among netizens.

The 12-second clip captures the President approaching some traditional leaders at the gathering.

However, what draws attention is an apparent gesture by President Akufo-Addo and one of his security personnel towards certain chiefs, signalling them to rise before he greets them with a handshake.

In the footage, as the President approaches a seated chief, he gestures towards him and then signals him with his hand to stand up for his handshake.

The exact location and occasion of the event remain unspecified, but the video has garnered attention, particularly on social media platforms.

This incident brings to mind a similar event year where President Akufo-Addo was captured on video alongside Henry Quartey, the current Minister of the Interior.

In that footage, the President was seen drawing the Minister's attention to a chief at an event.

It was later revealed that the president's action stemmed from his dissatisfaction with a chief who had reportedly refused to stand during the national anthem at a commemorative tree-planting exercise on Green Ghana Day 2023.
