IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe has indicated that he has no problem with the tag that his outfit and other Civil Society Organisations are mercenaries.

In an opinion piece published by P K Sarpong on Asaase Radio, it said “IMANI Africa et al are not think tanks, but mercenaries.”

Reacting to the piece, Franklin Cudjoe in a post on Facebook said he likes the title.

According to him, IMANI Africa and other think tanks are indeed mercenaries but focused on smoking out crookish charlatans with their offsprings.

“Actually liked the title. Yes, we are mercenaries bent on smoking out crookish charlatans with their offsprings,” Franklin Cudjoe said in his post, adding “Curiously though Asaase Radio and Wilberforce Asare pretend they haven't seen or read our petition against the EC for it to find space on their website. Yet, they entertain warped publications from crumb crawlers and sign off as "reporting"?”

Franklin Cudjo and other top officials of IMANI Africa have been called names in recent weeks for its efforts to hold the EC to account issue of the biometric electoral equipment it has spent tens of millions of dollars of the country's money on.

After several back and forths, IMANI has petitioned CHRAJ to investigate the Commission over alleged misappropriation and wastage of Ghana’s scarce resources among other things.
